July 13, 2012

Wow, has it really been 5 months since my last entry?!  Man, how time flew over the first half of 2012!  I guess the old cliche is true, time sure does fly when you're having fun.  I've been fortunate enough to have been introduced to and made new friends in the industry over the first half of 2012. I've had the privilege of working with some of DC's best promoters, DJ's, club owners/managers; shout-out to Red Rope Promotions, Absolute Addiction DC, Sinergy DC, STFU Inc., Liton Events DC. They throw some of DC's best events so look them up if you've got that party vibe!

DC has been LIVE over the last 5 months, weekends and even week nights have been poppin' all over the city.  The slow economy hasn't been affected the party scene as it probably has in other parts of the country.  A bunch of new venues have opened up recently on and off the beaten paths of DC nightlife.  It's definitely given the city a great selection of lounges, bars, clubs, etc. to check out every night of the week, it's great!!  People always want to talk about Miami, L.A., or Vegas as great party destinations.  In my opinion they are wonderful vacation or getaway destinations and the parties reflect that.  But, on a day-in/day-out basis, DC is amongst the best party cities that i can think of.  Every type of vibe can be accommodated.  Deep house, electro, hip hop, reggae, latin, even cheesy top 40 parties are all over the city on any given night.  Pound for pound in any genre, the DC area boasts some of the best DJ's in the country! SHOUT-OUT to all of the party rockers in the area!

Now I don't want to discount VA's party vibe just by hyping up DC's scene.  I've been able to stay in rotation in some of Northern Va's trendy venues in the Arlington, Fairfax, and Centreville areas.  The physical infrastructures of venues outside of the big city can't be duplicated in the 'burbs but as far as parties go, there is no drop-off.  In my mind, a dope DJ, a bar, and fun party-people is all you need.  It could be in the middle of a field for all I care.

Some notable events from the first half of the year include: SHOE+Topia 4 (they keep getting bigger and better).  We incorporated, a charity that recycles used but wearable shoes and distributes them all over the world.  We will definitely keep this partnership rolling, it was a great look!  Grey Goose's Hotel Noir Party was awesome! PACKED!  SKY-BAR's (Va. Beach) 4th of July Extravaganza was dope as well... what a beautiful spot (probably the nicest in all of Va. Beach).  Stay tuned for the next installment of each one of these events.

I will be tending to this blog more frequently from now on... I don't like that my first two entries serve more as quick summaries of extended periods of time.  I plan on going out more on nights off to listen to some of my favorite DJ's as well as check out new ones... same goes for venues, i'm definitely planning on checking out venues i've never been to and reporting back so stay tuned and check back often.  Peace!

Hello friends! Welcome to my site... here you can: check the schedule for my upcoming shows; browse the gallery of pictures and flyers from past events; listen and download my mixes; and pass the URL along to anyone you may know that needs to book a professional party starter!

2011 was a great year! thank you to all of my friends and family that have continuously shown support throughout the years - i couldn't have done what i've done or continue to do what i do without your care and support! I appreciate all of you... Last year, i was able to perform alongside some of the greatest talents in the music industry! I was able to share the stage with my favorite MC of all time, Nas! What an experience! I was also able to perform alongside Method Man, Wale, Lloyd Banks, Juelz Santana, Mims, and Young Money!

One of the greatest perks of DJing is being able to travel and take my craft on the road... i was fortunate to spin down in Va. Beach (Shout/Out to NBM Productions) and travelled down to Miami and performed at the Clevelander Hotel Rooftop! (S/O to Red Rope Promotions). Not only was it my first time spinning there, but it was also my first time there ever! One of the goals i have for 2012 is to travel more! I want to return to Va. Beach and Miami and also spin in some other cities and eventually in other countries!

One of the reasons i enjoyed Miami so much was because I was able to perform there with my partner Giorgio Danso aka: DJ G'Netixx. We've partnered up and formed The Smashers! Crew. We performed together at a couple of venues and look forward to expanding our brand further in 2012.

Check the site often to stay up to date with my upcoming shows and to download and listen to my mixes!
